Calculating your Body Mass Index (BMI) is a good way to find out whether
you are underweight, at just the right weight or overweight. BMI is
calculated using your height and weight, and although it does not
measure body fat directly, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention says that BMI "correlates to direct measures of body fat."
You can quickly calculate your own BMI by first measuring your height
and weight, and then use your BMI to figure out your body fat
percentage.
