Everyone has two types of fat cells, those with alpha fat receptors and
those with beta fat receptors. Alpha fat receptors decrease fat burning
and reduce the amount of blood flow through the fat cells, and beta fat
receptors increase fat burning and increase the amount of blood flow
through the fat cells. Unfortunately, the number of alpha and beta fat
receptors is genetically predetermined, so if you were born with a
larger number of alpha fat receptors, as opposed to a smaller number of
beta fat receptors, this could mean that your body will store fat and
hang onto fat longer. The trick is triggering your beta fat receptors to
work to burn fat and increase blood flow and get your alpha fat
receptors to slow down.
